Anglia Ruskin and Glasgow Universities’ schools of optometry have rolled out Optisoft Enterprise edition, bringing the benefits of practice management and clinical software to the attention of students.
Specific recall, at the click of the mouse, for selected patient groups such as those suffering from glaucoma and diabetes is particularly appreciated –
”We can call up these groups and monitor them closely as we are particularly interested in the research opportunities of tracking these patients,” said Neil Guest, Anglia Ruskin University Clinic Manager.
Appointments, records and cash are amongst the modules rolled out.
“The students like the system and they are finding it easy to use. We see up to 80 patients a week and we really like the ability to log and keep track of them. We are also mail-shotting the right ones to call in for specific research,” added Neil, who has managed the Anglia Ruskin clinic for the past nine years.
The IT system also integrates the clinic’s non-mainstream digital slip lamps and fundus cameras, which usually require their own dedicated software, into the patient’s notes.
