Paperless Practice Launched in Scotland

Mon Oct 15, 2007

Scotland's newest independent has just opened its doors and is already running a completely paperless practice, thanks to its investment in Optisoft technology.

Optometrist Tracey Sahraie is busier than she expected to be with the patients of Ellon, a rural town just north of Aberdeen. Ythan Opticians, named after the river which runs through the town, is seeing many people who commute to Aberdeen each day.

"I was aiming for a paperless practice and scoured the IT stands at Optrafair. Optisoft's system seemed the most user-friendly. I had worked with other systems in the past and knew what I did not want.

"We have four receptionists and they picked up the system so quickly. We are running the Diary, Cash, OptomNotes, Recall and Dispensing modules. As it is Windows-based it is very user-friendly and the diary is just like Microsoft Outlook, with which most people are familiar," said Tracey Sahraie.
