You can set up the different appointment types that the practice will regularly handle, specifying a typical duration for each. This saves time when booking appointments as you can simply select the type and the end time for the appointment will be calculated and entered automatically.

Setting Up Appointment Types

  • Click on the optisoftorb.jpg in the top left of the screen.
  • Go to Maintain > Appointments > Appointment Types.

Once the types have been created you need to configure which appointment types each optometrist has available to them. It is worth stating the a newly created appointment type is automatically assigned to all optometrists by default.

  • Click on the optisoftorb.jpg in the top left of the screen.
  • Go to Maintain > Appointments > Appointment Types.

  • Tick or untick the types of appointment relevant for that optometrist.
  • You can change the duration of an appointment type for that specific optometrist if necessary by changing the duration value – this does not effect the default practice durations or durations on any other optometrists record.
  • Click the savebutton.jpg button to save the changes.
