Manufacturers are used by the Stock, Spectacles Dispensing, Contact Lens Dispensing and Ordering modules. When an item is created you can assign a manufacturer it to speed up searching for the item, reporting and for use in the ordering module.



Create Manufacturer


To create a new manufacturer, follow the procedure below.


Click on the in the top left hand corner Select File > System > Manufacturers to open the Manufacturer Maintenance screen.

Enter the name of the Manufacturer. Select the Preferred Supplier from the drop down list, or select <none> if there isn’t one. The preferred supplier will be used by the Order Tracking module. Ensure that the appropriate checkboxes are ticked, e.g. Frame, Lens etc. Click the button to save the changes.



Editing Manufacturers


You can edit an existing manufacturer by following the below procedure

Click on the in the top left of the screen Select File > System > Manufacturers to open the Manufacturer Maintenance screen. Locate the name of the manufacturer in the list on the right hand side Click Select to begin editing the manufacturer Click the button to save the changes


Deleting Manufacturers You can delete manufacturers from the database. You should first, however, make sure that there are no items associated with the manufacturer on the database.

Click on the in the top left of the screen Select File > System > Manufacturers to open the Manufacturer Maintenance screen. Locate the name of the manufacturer in the list on the right hand side Click Select to begin editing the manufacturer Click on the button to delete the selected manufacturer.
