Free System Reviews & Training

Making Tax Digital – Deadline 1 April 2027

From 1 April 2027, Companies House will no longer accept paper or web-filed annual accounts – all submissions must be made using approved commercial software. This is part of the government’s wider “Making Tax Digital” reforms and will affect every practice, with new requirements such as mandatory software filing and profit and loss accounts for small and micro-entities.

The good news is that Optisoft.NET is already ahead of the curve. The Cash module includes built-in links to Sage Online and Xero – provided free of charge – making it simple to stay compliant without extra cost or hassle. If you’re already filing digitally you’re in a strong position, but if not, now is the time to start planning with your accountant or software provider to ensure a smooth transition.

Windows 10 End of Life – Time to Plan Ahead

Microsoft will officially end support for Windows 10 in October 2025. After that date, there will be no security patches, leaving your systems vulnerable.

We recommend upgrading to Windows 11 as soon as possible. Optisoft.NET is fully compatible, and we can supply new HP business machines or quality refurbished PCs to meet your needs and budget. Planning early means avoiding last-minute disruption and keeping your data secure.

Online Appointments – Faster, Smarter, and More Flexible

We’re excited to share some major improvements to the Optisoft Online Appointments solution.

Faster booking experience – we’ve streamlined the system so patients can get from choosing their service to confirming their slot in less time than ever.

Extended booking horizons – practices can now open up appointments further into the future, making it easier for patients to plan ahead and secure the times they want.

Customisable look and feel – font styles can now be adjusted to better match your practice website, giving a more seamless and professional appearance.

Zeiss integration – patients browsing the Zeiss website can now book appointments with you directly through our system, creating another channel for new patients to connect with your practice.

Planned Development Work

The projects we are currently working on are:

Direct Debits Module  Providing the ability to collect regular payments for patents on a practice scheme or short term payment plan. This new module has passed internal testing and is currently being beta tested.

eGOS Scotland – GOS 1 is now fully integrated and being used in practice. we are now focusing on the remaining forms.
