How easy is it to switch to Optisoft from another provider?
It’s really straight-forward. We include a free data transfer from your current system, we’ll get you up and running quickly & easily.
How much training is needed?
We recommend one day’s training for every two modules purchased. However, it really depends on your IT experience & we are happy to discuss & advise accordingly.
What if I come across any problems?
Our dedicated support team know our hardware & software inside out & are on hand to answer any questions and queries you may have. There a few ways to get in touch, find out more on our Support Page.
What specification of PC is required?
Our recommended PC specification to run Optisoft is: Microsoft Windows 10 Professional, Intel Core i5 processor, 8Gb RAM.
What does my software subscription include?
Software subscription includes your chosen modules plus access to our support services, regular software updates, industry updates and informed advice for independent opticians.
We also offer our customers access to a range of other services beneficial to independent opticians; SMS bundles, integrated payments, automated mail services & more.
Do I need to subscribe to all the modules?
As Optisoft is a modular system, you can subscribe to the modules you need now and add further modules as & when required.
Can I access the system from home or elsewhere?
Sure, via the Cloud.
Do you provide hosting?
Yes, via the Cloud. Our Cloud based hosting allows you to access your data across multiple practices, from home or elsewhere & you can gain remote access. It has full back up, complete data security & disaster recovery.
How affordable is Optisoft?
Our Patients module which includes Records, Recall, Reports, Email & SMS is £100 per month. Additional modules are £25 per month. We pride ourselves on our flexible system, no need to buy a full software suite, choose the software features you need, when you need them.
What accompanying services do you offer?
We offer a range of accompanying services including;
- Hardware supply & installation giving a complete solution for your independent optical practice
- Hardware support including fault diagnosis, replacement equipment & on-site engineering
- Training on-site with our experienced staff
- SMS messages available in bundles to enable you to contact your patients for recall, appointments & marketing purposes
- Our remote printing & mailing service saves staff time & cuts postage costs

Can I buy hardware from Optisoft?
Optisoft is a HP partner. We supply, install & support HP hardware throughout the UK. We also offer hardware support to ensure if you run into problems, they can be quickly resolved to minimise downtime. Is Optisoft Making Tax Digital ready?
Making Tax Digital is the UK government’s initiative to take all tax submission online, enforcing digital record keeping via computer software. Read all about the initiative and it’s roll out here.
Whilst the initiative launches on the 1st April 2019, the government have not yet confirmed how software systems will digitally link with accounting systems to provide a full digital trail, so how the Optisoft Cash module will link with Sage or other accounting software for example. The government guidelines state that this will be advised in due course & have given a further 12 months for this to come into play. In that time, we will enable the software link as required, we’ll keep our customers in the loop in terms of plans & next steps.
Is Optisoft GDPR compliant?

Can I run Optisoft on a Mac?
Yes, you will need to use either Boot Camp or VMware Fusion, both of which are available from Apple.
Can I integrate Optisoft with my optical equipment?
Optisoft integrates with most optical equipment, please get in touch to discuss requirements.
What type of network should I use?
A standard CAT5 cable network connected through a gigabit switch with compatible network cards is recommended to run Optisoft on a network.
