Summer Newsletter 2025

While you might be dreaming of deckchairs and ice cream, we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes (with only the occasional ice lolly break).

Development on Optisoft.NET never takes a holiday, so we’ve lined up some news and enhancements to brighten your screens—no sunscreen required!

Optisoft Users Go the Extra Mile

for charity

On Sunday, April 6th, long-standing Optisoft user Stuart Humfrey proudly completed the London Landmarks Half Marathon alongside his daughter, Charlotte.

The duo crossed the finish line hand-in-hand with an impressive chip time of 2:08:47, raising a remarkable £2,868.80 in support of Challenging MND. Reflecting on the experience, Stuart said:

“None of this would have been possible without every donation, word of encouragement, and show of support. It all made a real difference, and I’m truly grateful from the bottom of my heart.”

In other fundraising news, Alex Barke of Vision+Eyecare in Stratford-upon-Avon—another long-time Optisoft user—took on an ambitious challenge as part of the practice’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

On May 10th, Alex completed a 30km trail run through the Chiltern Hills, featuring over 500m of elevation, winding woodland paths, and stunning ridgeline views. He finished the demanding course in just over three hours, raising an impressive £2,290 for Warwickshire Vision, a charity that provides vital services to people with visual impairments across the county.

We’re incredibly proud to see members of the Optisoft community going the distance—both on the ground and in their dedication to making a difference.

A huge congratulations to Stuart and Alex on their fantastic achievements—from all of us at Optisoft.

Windows 10 End of Life

Microsoft has officially announced that Windows 10 will reach its End of Life (EOL) on October 14, 2025. After this date, no further security updates, patches, or technical support will be provided. This has serious implications for businesses and individuals still using Windows 10. If you’re using an older operating system, we recommend upgrading as soon as possible.

Continuing to use Windows 10 after the EOL date will make your PC increasingly vulnerable to cyber threats. Critically, using unsupported systems may also put your practice at risk of breaching GDPR regulations, as all systems handling personal data must be secure and fully supported.

What does this mean for you?

  • Systems running Windows 10 after the EOL date will no longer be secure or compliant.
  • You may risk data breaches or fines under GDPR.
  • Upgrading or replacing your hardware may be necessary to move to Windows 11 or other supported platforms.

Not sure if your PC is ready?

Our team is here to help. Call our Support Line or click the link below to speak with us. We’ll check your systems and advise whether an upgrade or replacement is required.

We can also supply new hardware tailored to your needs if your current PCs don’t support the latest version of Windows.

To avoid last-minute stress or downtime, we strongly recommend beginning your upgrade planning now.

Stay secure. Stay compliant. Stay ahead
