Summer Newsletter

As we emerge slowly and cautiously out of the pandemic, here at Optisoft our priority hasn’t changed. Our aim is to provide the best possible software and service for your practice. So, thank you for your continued support and read on to find out what’s been happening in the world of Optisoft.

Our latest version continues to be developed with even more great features…

Our main area of development over the last few months has been eGOS. The GOS portal from PCSE was met with a lukewarm reception to say the least and although we created a software link, it certainly didn’t meet our ethos of an easy-to-use solution due to issues with the portal.

We’ve therefore been working hard on a fully integrated solution to replace the current eGOS link and this will be included in the subscription for Optisoft.NET at no extra cost when released later this month.

Speed improvements! Another large amount of programming time was spent increasing the speed of the software – specifically for our cloud hosted users.

We’ve significantly improved the speed of the main key modules and will continue to make further improvements as time goes on. Please report any specific areas that you feel need attention.

Following suggestions from users of .NET, we have made a few changes to the Spectacles module. The tab order has been changed to allow for a better work flow and we have introduced a dedicated measurements tab. Please let us know if we can improve this further.

We’re always looking for ways to make our software better, so if you have any ideas we’d love to hear them. Why not get a discussion going on our forum? – Available in the Community Hub (See below).

Other developments over the last 12 months include the addition of Clinical Records to replace the legacy OptomNotes module for a fully integrated solution which is quite possibly, the most configurable and customisable paperless clinical record system on the market today.

Making Tax Digital

As part of the HMRC digital roll out, from April this year all entries into your accounts package should, where possible, be made via digital links from your electronic till.

We have therefore been busy rolling out links for Enterprise & .NET users directly to into the Xero accounts software. A direct integrated solution for Sage will be available very soon.

Optisoft Community Hub

You’re hopefully already aware that our new Community Hub was released last month, but in case you missed it, the Hub is a new free resource only available to Optisoft users including eLearning videos and customised contact forms.

We’ve also resurrected our user forum and hope to get some interaction going from all our valued users. This is the best place to let us know of any improvements you’d like to see in the software or report any bugs. If you’ve not signed up yet, what are you waiting for?

Optisoft team updates

We are very pleased to announce that new staff member, Sam Jarvis, has joined the software development team at York HQ last month to expand our programming resources.

We are also advertising for an extra support team member – If you know anyone in the York area with an IT support background, we’d love to hear from them.
